Set against a backdrop of opulence and art, the story unfolds as Mortdecai attempts to recover a stolen painting that is rumored to contain a secret code leading to a lost treasure. His charming yet hapless nature invites trouble, especially as he is pursued by various factions, including the authorities and a group of mercenaries, all eager to get their hands on the artwork.
