Yuen Qiu is a Hong Kong actress and martial artist who played a student in The Man with the Golden Gun (1974). She is skilled in both Chinese martial arts and Beijing opera, having trained under Yu Jim-Yuen, the same master as Jackie Chan and Sammo Hung Kam-Bo. Yuen Qiu began her career as a stuntwoman and nightclub performer in the late 1960s before taking a long break from the film industry. Her return came unexpectedly when she was cast in Kung Fu Hustle, after initially accompanying a fellow student to the audition. She has also appeared in Disciples of the 36th Chamber (1985) and The Book of Mythical Beasts (2020). Yuen Qiu's role in Kung Fu Hustle was secured through the persistent persuasion of director Stephen Chow.
