Yaphet Kotto is an American actor who starred as Lieutenant Al Giardello in the NBC series Homicide: Life on the Street (1993-1999). His filmography includes significant roles in Alien (1979), The Running Man (1987), and Live and Let Die (1973), where he played the main antagonist Dr. Kananga/Mr. Big. Kotto also appeared alongside Robert De Niro in the comedy thriller Midnight Run (1988) as FBI Agent Alonzo Mosley.
