William Holden is an American actor who won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance in Stalag 17 (1953). He was one of the leading box office attractions during the 1950s and was recognized as one of the "Top 10 Stars of the Year" on six occasions. Holden also received an Emmy Award for Best Actor in 1974. His notable works include Sunset Boulevard (1950), The Bridge on the River Kwai (1957), and The Key (1958). He was ranked #25 on the American Film Institute's AFI's 100 Years…100 Stars list.
