William Hanna was an American animator and director who co-founded the animation studio Hanna-Barbera. His collaboration with Joseph Barbera began at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, where they created the series Tom and Jerry. Hanna-Barbera produced numerous shows, including The Flintstones, Scooby-Doo, and The Jetsons, which reached a global audience of over 300 million. Throughout their careers, Hanna and Barbera received seven Academy Awards and eight Emmy Awards for their work in animation. In the later years, they remained involved as advisors after the studio's sale to Turner Broadcasting System. Hanna directed Tom and Jerry Cowboy Up! in 2022.
