William Gao is an English actor who debuted as Tao Xu in the Netflix series Heartstopper (2022–present). He received a nomination for a Children's and Family Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Performance for this role. In addition to acting, Gao is also a musician and, along with his sister Olivia Hardy, formed the music duo Wasia Project in 2019. He appears in Heartstopper Forever (2026).
