Whoopi Goldberg is an American actress who made her film debut in The Color Purple (1985) as Celie, a mistreated woman in the Deep South. She gained significant acclaim for her role in Ghost (1990), where she portrayed Oda Mae Brown, earning an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
