Wayne Tippit was an American television and stage character actor who portrayed Ted Adamson on the CBS soap opera Search for Tomorrow during the 1970s and 1980s. He also played Palmer Woodward, the father of Amanda Woodward, in the Fox series Melrose Place in the 1990s. Tippit appeared in the film Dancer, Texas Pop. 81 released in 1998. His diverse career included significant roles in both daytime and primetime television dramas.
