Wanjiru M. Njendu is a Kenyan director, writer, and producer based in Los Angeles who directed the film "Something in the Dirt" (2022). Growing up in Kenya, she was influenced by American films and often recreated scenes from classics like "E.T." and "Star Wars" with her peers, earning her the nickname "Magic." Her notable works include the film "Look Again," which was nominated for an African Movie Academy Award in 2012 and won Best Diaspora Film at the Kalasha Awards in Kenya. Wanjiru has also worked in television on projects such as "Samantha Who" and "Mostly Evil." She has been mentored by director Jon Amiel for four years.
