Wagner Moura is a Brazilian actor and filmmaker who gained significant acclaim for his role as Pablo Escobar in the Netflix series Narcos. He first made a mark in Brazilian cinema with his leading performance as Captain Nascimento in Elite Squad (2007) and its sequel. Moura transitioned to American films with a role in Elysium (2013) and has since appeared in notable projects such as Wasp Network (2020) and Sergio (2020). His work in The Secret Agent (2025) earned him the distinction of being the first South American actor to win the Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Actor. Moura also made his directorial debut with Marighella (2019).
