Vincenzo Amato is an Italian actor who made his film debut in Once We Were Strangers (2001). His career gained significant momentum with his portrayal of the fisherman Pietro in Emanuele Crialese's Respiro (2002). Amato's performance in Nuovomondo (2006) earned him a nomination for the David di Donatello for Best Actor. He has appeared in notable films such as Unbroken (2014) and Red Notice (2021). In addition to acting, Amato is also a sculptor, having focused on iron sculpting after studying painting. He collaborated with director Emanuele Crialese on multiple projects.
