Vikram is an Indian film actor who made his debut in the 1990 film En Kadhal Kanmani. He predominantly works in Tamil cinema and has received numerous accolades, including seven Filmfare Awards and one National Film Award. His breakthrough role came in the 1999 film Sethu, where he portrayed a rogue turned lover, marking the start of a successful acting career. Vikram has appeared in notable films such as Pithamagan (2003), Anniyan (2005), and the Ponniyin Selvan series (2022-2023). In addition to his film work, he has actively promoted social causes and served as the Youth Envoy for the United Nations Human Settlements Programme. Vikram was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the People's University of Milan in May 2011.
