Veronica Cartwright is a British-born American actress who portrayed Lambert in the science fiction horror film Alien (1979). She began her career as a child actress with roles in The Children's Hour and The Birds, the latter marking her first significant success. Cartwright transitioned to adult roles with 1978's Invasion of the Body Snatchers, which paved the way for her performance in Alien, earning her a Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actress. She also appeared in notable films such as The Right Stuff and The Witches of Eastwick. In the 1990s, she garnered three Primetime Emmy Award nominations for her guest performances, including one for ER.
