Vasan Bala

Vasan Bala is an Indian film director and screenwriter who made his directorial debut with the crime thriller Peddlers in 2012. He has written scripts for notable films such as Bombay Velvet (2015) and Raman Raghav 2.0 (2016). Bala's film Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota was released in 2019. He has also worked as an assistant director on films including Dev.D (2009) and Gulaal (2009). His recent project, Jigra (2024), features Alia Bhatt in the lead role. Bala's work has garnered attention at prestigious platforms, including a nomination for the Golden Camera Award at Cannes.
