Tuesday Weld is an American actress who won a Golden Globe Award for Most Promising Female Newcomer in 1960. She began her acting career as a child and transitioned to more serious roles in the late 1950s, establishing herself in dramatic films throughout the 1960s and 1970s. Weld received numerous accolades, including a nomination for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Looking for Mr. Goodbar (1978) and an Emmy Award nomination for The Winter of Our Discontent (1983). Her work in Once Upon a Time in America (1984) earned her a BAFTA nomination. In the years following the 1980s, her appearances in films became less frequent.
