His career, spanning six decades, included over 100 films across various genres, with notable performances in Sweet Smell of Success (1957) and The Defiant Ones (1958), the latter earning him an Oscar nomination for Best Actor. Curtis displayed his comedic talent in Some Like It Hot (1959), which is regarded as one of the funniest films ever made.
