After the war, he signed with Columbia Records and achieved significant success with songs like "Rags to Riches" and his signature tune, "I Left My Heart in San Francisco". Bennett experienced a resurgence in the late 1980s and 1990s, appealing to a new generation while maintaining his classic style. He has received numerous accolades, including fifteen Grammy Awards and two Emmy Awards, and is also known for his painting under the name Benedetto. Bennett appeared in the film Bruce Almighty (2003).
