Tom Courtenay is an English actor who gained prominence in the early 1960s with films such as The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner (1962) and Billy Liar (1963). He appeared in Dr. Zhivago (1965) and has also featured in The Railway Children Return (2022) and Flood (2007). Courtenay was knighted in February 2001. He received an honorary doctorate from Hull University in 1999. Courtenay serves as the President of Hull City A.F.C.'s Official Supporters Club.
