Tim Matheson is an American actor, director, and producer who portrayed Eric 'Otter' Stratton in the 1978 comedy Animal House. He has played notable roles such as Vernon 'Doc' Mullins in Netflix's Virgin River, Henry Kaslan in the 2019 remake of Child's Play, and Dr. Brick Breeland in CW's Hart of Dixie. Matheson also appeared as Vance Wilder Sr. in National Lampoon's Van Wilder (2002) and had roles in films like 1941 (1979) and Fletch. In addition to his live-action work, he voiced characters in animated series, including Jonny Quest and Space Ghost. He played John Hoynes on The West Wing.
