Tia Texada is an American actress who portrayed Sgt. Maritza Cruz in the television series Third Watch. Her acting career began at a young age, and she has appeared in films such as Paulie (1998), Nurse Betty (2000), Glitter (2001), and Phone Booth (2003). Texada also featured in Spartan (2004) and had a role in the TV series Everybody Hates Chris (2008) as Miss Rivera. In addition to acting, she has a singing career, with her music featured in shows like Dawson's Creek and performances at the Lilith Fair tour in 1998. She has also lent her voice to the animated series Static Shock. Texada played a guest role in the series Saving Grace.
