Ted Ross is an American actor who won a Tony Award for his portrayal of the Lion in the original Broadway production of The Wiz (1975). He reprised this role in the film adaptation released in 1978, featuring Diana Ross and Michael Jackson. Ross appeared in notable films such as Arthur (1981) and Police Academy (1984), as well as television series including The Jeffersons and The Cosby Show. His final performance was in the film The Fisher King (1991).
