Tanroh Ishida is a London-based Japanese actor who trained in both Japanese Traditional Theatre and Western theatre. Beginning his training in Noh and Kyogen Theatre at the age of three, he performed internationally, including at Carnegie Hall and Shakespeare's Globe. After moving to England at 15 to pursue Western theatre, he graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and established his own theatre company, Tea Leaf Theatre, which aims to blend Eastern and Western theatrical traditions. His work has garnered critical acclaim, including five-star reviews at the Edinburgh Festival. Ishida appeared in 47 Ronin (2013).
