Sukumar is an Indian film director, producer, and screenwriter who made his directorial debut with Aarya (2004). He collaborated with actor Allu Arjun and composer Devi Sri Prasad in films such as Aarya 2 (2009), Rangasthalam (2018), and the Pushpa series. Before entering the film industry, Sukumar worked as a lecturer in mathematics and physics for nearly six years and began his career as a writer. His films often feature complex, multi-layered narratives and protagonists with grey shades and physical handicaps. Sukumar has received several accolades, including the Filmfare and Nandi Awards for Aarya, and the K. V. Reddy Memorial award.
