Sujoy Ghosh is an Indian filmmaker whose directorial debut was Jhankaar Beats in 2003, a film that popularized multiplex cinema in Bollywood. He gained significant recognition for his mystery thriller Kahaani, released in 2012, which featured a strong female lead and earned him a National Film Award for Best Screenplay and a Filmfare Award for Best Director. Ghosh directed the sequel Kahaani 2 in 2016 and produced the thriller Te3n, also starring Amitabh Bachchan. His other notable works include Aladin (2009) and the recent Jaane Jaan (2023). Ghosh's short film Ahalya (2015) marked a shift towards digital storytelling by mainstream directors. He also acted in Satyanweshi (2013) as Byomkesh Bakshi.
