Subhash Ghai is an Indian film director, producer, and screenwriter who directed the film Kalicharan in 1976. He directed Karz in 1980, Hero in 1983, and Khalnayak in 1993. Ghai founded Mukta Arts Private Limited in 1982, which became a public company in 2000, where he serves as executive chairman. His work on the film Iqbal in 2005 earned him a National Film Award for production. He received the IIFA Award in 2015. Ghai directed Pardes in 1997.
