Sturgill Simpson is an American country music singer-songwriter and actor who starred in The Creator (2023). He gained recognition in the music industry with his debut albums, High Top Mountain and Metamodern Sounds in Country Music, released in 2013 and 2014, respectively. His third album, A Sailor's Guide to Earth, won Best Country Album at the 59th Grammy Awards and was nominated for Album of the Year. In addition to his music career, Simpson has appeared in films such as The Hunt (2020) and Queen & Slim (2019). He has announced that his seventh studio album, The Ballad of Dood and Juanita, would be his final release as Sturgill Simpson.
