Steven Spielberg is an American filmmaker who directed the groundbreaking film Jaws (1975). A prominent figure in the New Hollywood era, he is the highest-grossing film director in history. Spielberg's notable works include the science fiction classics E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982) and Jurassic Park (1993), as well as Schindler's List (1993), for which he won an Academy Award for Best Director. His extensive filmography also features Catch Me If You Can (2002), Minority Report (2002), and Ready Player One (2018). Spielberg co-founded Amblin Entertainment and DreamWorks Pictures and has received three Academy Awards and the AFI Life Achievement Award. He collaborated with composer John Williams on the scores of most of his films.
