Stephan James is a Canadian actor who won a Canadian Screen Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of Jesse Owens in the film Race (2016). He gained further recognition for his performance in Barry Jenkins' drama If Beale Street Could Talk (2018), which is based on the novel by James Baldwin.
