Stellan Skarsgård is a Swedish actor who played Dr. Erik Selvig in Thor (2011). He has a notable collaboration with director Lars von Trier, featuring in six of his films, including Breaking the Waves (1996) and Melancholia (2011). Skarsgård gained international recognition for his performances in The Hunt for Red October (1990) and Good Will Hunting (1997). His filmography includes roles in the Pirates of the Caribbean series, specifically Dead Man's Chest (2006) and At World's End (2007), as well as prominent parts in Dune (2021) and the miniseries Chernobyl (2019).
