Sowcar Janaki is a south-Indian actress who has appeared in over 385 films across multiple languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi, and Malayalam. She began her acting career while raising a three-month-old baby and gained popularity with notable films such as Sowcar (Telugu), Pudhiya Paravai (Tamil), and Iru Kodugal (Tamil). In addition to her film work, she has performed in over 300 stage shows and participated in two Telugu plays for TANA in the United States. Janaki starred in Hey Ram (2000), Yavade Subramanyam (2015), and Anni Manchi Sakunamule (2023). She received an honorary Doctorate from the University of Arizona.
