Sophie Nélisse is a Canadian actress who won a Genie Award for her role in Monsieur Lazhar (2011). She gained recognition for portraying Liesel Meminger in The Book Thief (2013). Nélisse's career includes performances in Ésimésac (2012) and the sitcom Les Parent. She has also appeared in 47 Meters Down: Uncaged (2019). In addition to her Genie Award, she received a Jutra Award and a nomination for a Young Artist Award for Best Leading Young Actress in an International Feature Film. Nélisse's sister is actress Isabelle Nélisse.
