Sissy Spacek is an American actress and singer who won an Academy Award for her role as Loretta Lynn in Coal Miner's Daughter (1980). She began her career in the early 1970s, debuting in Andy Warhol's Women in Revolt (1971). Spacek gained fame with her performance as Carrie White in Carrie (1976), which earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. Other notable films include Badlands (1973), JFK (1991), and The Help (2011). In television, she received Primetime Emmy nominations for The Good Old Boys (1995) and Last Call (2002). Spacek also ventured into music, recording for the soundtrack of Coal Miner's Daughter, which earned her a Grammy nomination.
