Siobhan Finneran is an English actress who made her screen debut in the independent film Rita, Sue and Bob Too (1987). She has had a prolific career in television, with notable roles in Coronation Street (1989–1990), Clocking Off (2000–2002), and Downton Abbey (2010–2012) as an embittered servant. Finneran portrayed Janice Garvey in the sitcom Benidorm (2007–2015) and received a BAFTA nomination for her role in Happy Valley (2014–2023). In addition to her acting work, she has narrated numerous television documentaries. Finneran was awarded the Manchester Evening News Theatre Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance in the stage play On the Shore of the Wide World. She appeared in the film The Selfish Giant (2013), earning a British Independent Film Award nomination.
