Simon Russell Beale is an English actor who made his film debut in Orlando (1992). He has had a prolific career in theatre, notably with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre, earning three Laurence Olivier Awards for his performances in Volpone (1996), Candide (2000), and Uncle Vanya (2003). Beale has also received a Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play for his role in The Lehman Trilogy. His film credits include The Deep Blue Sea (2011), Mary Queen of Scots (2018), and The Outfit (2022). He has also been recognized with a British Independent Film Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in The Death of Stalin (2017).
