Simon Callow is an English actor who originated the title role of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in the 1979 play Amadeus. He gained further recognition for his performances in notable films such as A Room with a View (1985), Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994), and Shakespeare in Love (1998). Callow has received multiple accolades, including an Olivier Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award, along with nominations for two BAFTA Awards. His television work includes roles in Chance in a Million (1984) and Outlander (2014-2016). He was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 1999. Callow won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Director of a Musical for Carmen Jones in 1992.
