Shin Ha-kyun is a South Korean actor who gained national fame for his portrayal of a North Korean soldier in Joint Security Area (JSA, 2000). He began his career as a stage actor before moving to film, where he received the Blue Dragon Best Supporting Actor award for his work in JSA. His filmography includes notable titles such as Guns & Talks (2001), Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance (2002), and Welcome to Dongmakgol (2005), the latter being a major success with 8 million admissions. Shin also starred in The Thieves (2012) and Extreme Job (2019), both of which became significant hits in Korean cinema. He performed in The Villainess (2017).
