Shelley Long is an American actress who won an Emmy Award for her portrayal of Diane Chambers in the television series Cheers. She received five Emmy nominations for this role and also earned two Golden Globe Awards. Long's film career includes notable performances in Night Shift (1982), Irreconcilable Differences (1984), The Money Pit (1986), and The Brady Bunch Movie (1995). While she was a mainstay on Cheers, she continued to act in films, and after leaving the series, she returned for special episodes and the final season. Long also appeared in the sitcom Modern Family as DeDe Pritchett. Her role in The Cleaner (2021) marks her later work in film.
