Shankar is an Indian actor, film director, and producer who made his debut in Tamil cinema with Oru Thalai Ragam. He has appeared in nearly 200 films, establishing himself as a leading figure in Malayalam cinema during the 1980s and also gaining prominence in Tamil films. His Malayalam debut, Manjil Virinja Pookkal, had a successful theatrical run of 250 days, while Oru Thalai Ragam ran for 365 days. Shankar is often recognized as the Romantic hero of Malayalam films, and he starred in Bhramam (2021).
