Seymour Cassel was an American actor who gained prominence in the 1960s through his work in independent films directed by John Cassavetes. His debut film was Too Late Blues in 1961, and he received an Academy Award nomination for his role in Faces (1968), winning a National Society of Film Critics Award. Over his extensive career, he appeared in more than 200 films and television shows, including notable works such as Coogan's Bluff (1968), Indecent Proposal (1993), and It Could Happen to You (1994). Cassel also collaborated frequently with Wes Anderson, featuring in Rushmore (1998) and The Royal Tenenbaums (2001).
