Seu Jorge is a Brazilian musician, singer/songwriter, and actor who played Mané Galinha in City of God (2002). He was raised in a favela in Belford Roxo. Influenced by samba schools and Stevie Wonder, Seu Jorge has also made significant contributions as a soundtrack composer. He portrayed Pelé Dos Santos in Wes Anderson's The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (2004), where he performed Portuguese covers of David Bowie's songs. His film credits include Pelé: Birth of a Legend (2016).
