Selton Mello is a Brazilian actor and director who gained acclaim for his role as Chicó in O Auto da Compadecida (2000). He began his career in the 1980s with Brazilian television soap operas before transitioning to film, where he starred in notable works such as Lavoura Arcaica (1996) and Meu Nome Não É Johnny (2008). Mello's performance in Ainda Estou Aqui (2020) as Rubens Paiva highlighted his ability to tackle complex narratives. As a director, his film O Palhaço (2011) received widespread recognition. Mello is also a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
