Sean Bean is an English actor known for his role as Richard Sharpe in the ITV series Sharpe, which aired from 1993 to 1997. He made his film debut in Patriot Games (1992) and has appeared in notable films such as GoldenEye (1995), National Treasure (2004), and The Martian (2015). Bean performed in the Lord of the Rings trilogy (2001–2003) and Silent Hill (2006). He starred in the television series Game of Thrones and lent his voice to video games including The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. In 2022, Bean received the British Academy Television Award for Leading Actor in Time.
