Satoshi Kon was a Japanese anime director and mangaka who directed the film Paprika in 2006. A graduate of the Graphic Design department at Musashino Art University, he was also a member of the Japan Animation Creators Association. Kon's work often explored themes of reality and illusion, as seen in his projects such as Perfect Blue (1997) and Millennium Actress (2001). He is sometimes credited under the name Yoshihiro Wanibuchi, particularly in Paranoia Agent.
