Sarah Polley is a Canadian filmmaker and political activist who made her feature film directorial debut with Away from Her (2006). She gained early recognition as a child actress in the series Ramona and later starred in notable films such as The Sweet Hereafter (1997), Dawn of the Dead (2004), and Mr. Nobody (2009). Polley directed the documentary Stories We Tell (2012) and wrote the miniseries Alias Grace, based on a novel by Margaret Atwood. In 2022, she wrote and directed Women Talking, which earned her an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.
