Sanjeev Kumar is an Indian actor who won the National Film Award for Best Actor twice for his performances in Dastak (1971) and Koshish (1973). He began his film career with a small role in Hum Hindustani (1960) and gained prominence with his lead role in Nishan (1965). His breakthrough performance came in Khilona (1970), leading to a successful career featuring significant films such as Sholay (1975), The Chess Players (1977), and Angoor (1982). Kumar received multiple Filmfare Awards, including for Sholay and Arjun Pandit (1977). His legacy is honored in Surat with a road named after him and a commemorative postage stamp issued by India Post in 2013.
