Sam Richardson is an American actor and comedian who played Richard Splett in the HBO series Veep (2012–2019). He co-created and starred in the Comedy Central series Detroiters (2017–2018) alongside Tim Robinson and has appeared in the Netflix sketch show I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson (2019–present). Richardson portrayed Aniq Adjaye in the Apple TV+ series The Afterparty (2022–2023) and Norville Rogers in the Max series Velma (2023–2024). His film credits include roles in Spy (2015), Promising Young Woman (2020), and The Tomorrow War (2021). He won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series in 2023 for his performance in Ted Lasso.
