Sam Bankman-Fried is an American entrepreneur who founded the FTX cryptocurrency exchange. He was once celebrated as a prominent figure in the crypto industry, with FTX operating over 130 international affiliates. His downfall began in November 2022 when allegations of fraud led to a mass withdrawal of assets, resulting in the company's bankruptcy. Following his arrest in December 2022, Bankman-Fried faced multiple criminal charges and was convicted of fraud and money laundering in 2023. He was sentenced to 25 years in prison in 2024. Bankman-Fried appears in the film Bitconned (2024).
