Sally Field is an American actress who won two Academy Awards for her performances in Norma Rae (1979) and Places in the Heart (1984). She began her career in television, starring in series like Gidget (1965–1966) and The Flying Nun (1967–1970), before transitioning to film with notable roles in Stay Hungry (1976), Smokey and the Bandit (1977), and Mrs. Doubtfire (1993). Field received acclaim for her performance in Forrest Gump (1994) and starred in Hello, My Name Is Doris (2015) and Lincoln (2012). Her work in television earned her multiple Primetime Emmy Awards, including for Brothers & Sisters (2006–2011). In 2019, she was honored with the Kennedy Center Honor.
