Ruth Jones is a Welsh actress and writer who co-wrote and starred in the popular sitcom Gavin & Stacey (2007–2010, 2019, 2024). She received a BAFTA Award for Best Female Comedy Performance in 2025 for her work on the show. In addition to her role in Gavin & Stacey, she co-wrote and starred in the comedy-drama Stella (2012–2017), earning nominations for both the BAFTA Award for Best Female Comedy Performance and the BAFTA Cymru Award for Best Screenwriter. Her television credits also include appearances in Fat Friends (2000–2005), Little Britain (2003–2007), and Nighty Night (2004–2005). Jones was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in 2014.
