Rupert Friend is an English actor who appeared in The Libertine (2004) and Mrs Palfrey at the Claremont (2005), earning awards for his debut roles. He portrayed George Wickham in Pride & Prejudice (2005) and Lieutenant Kurt Kotler in The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas (2008). Additional notable works include his roles in The Young Victoria (2009), Homeland (2012–2017) as CIA operative Peter Quinn, and Anatomy of a Scandal (2022) as disgraced politician James Whitehouse. In the early 2020s, he collaborated with Wes Anderson, appearing in The French Dispatch (2021) and Asteroid City (2023). Friend has also directed and produced short films, including The Continuing and Lamentable Saga of the Suicide Brothers (2008).
